Ingredients3 cups rice
1 cup channa dal
1/2 cup urad dal
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp mehti seeds
1 tsp haldi
1/2 tsp eno or soda bicarbonate
4 tbsp oil
a pinch of hing (asfoetida)
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
2 tbsp mint leaves
a piece of ginger
4-5 chopped chillies
1 1/2 cups curds
salt to taste
1/2 lime
Instructionssoak rice,channa dals,urad dal for 3-4 hours.Keep aside.After 3-4 hrs add curds.Grind all together.after grinding add mustard seeds,methi seeds & tumeric
keep for 8-9 hours.
add salt,corriander leaves,mint leaves,green chillies,a piece of ginger.
add 2-3 tsp oil to the mixture,soda bicarbonate,lime and put little hot water to the mixture for the consitency required.
heat an idli container containing water 1/2 cup and over it place a greased thali(dish).pour the mixture in the dish.steam for 20 minutes.Remove from the fire, cool.Cut into pieces.serve with green chutney.
